Travel With Me!
My Story
I grew up in a family that says, “take advantage of your opportunities.” So I have done that as much as I have been able to. It’s so much fun to build memories. As I type this, I am planning a road trip with my dogs from Kansas to Washington, DC, to see the Statue of Liberty, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Nova Scotia and to so many other fun places, too! I’m excited.
I love traveling. I have been to 49 of the United States, and driven in 48 of them. I have also traveled to many places in Canada and England. My next trips include the US and Canadian East Coast, then Alaska and the Canadian West Coast, then I have my eyes set on Europe and beyond!
My next trip is in 2 weeks; I am traveling with my dogs. I’m driving from Kansas to Washington, DC, then North to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, to visit the stomping grounds of so many of my ancestors. My mum & her family line is from there, and my dad’s great-grandfather and his family line is from there. I can’t wait to go find places where they were born, lived, got married at, visit grave sites, and eat the food from the region and talk with people and learn things.
After that, my next trip is to my 50th state - Alaska! I can’t wait! It is my first cruise down the coast of Alaska and ending at probably my favorite place in the whole world - Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
And because of all the traveling I have done (with and without my dogs), things I have learned, I am thinking of opening up my knowledge base and starting up MY OWN TRAVEL AGENCY.
Why? Read on …
1. “Jodi, You Do So Many Cool Things!”
I remember in college, I was painting a mural in the basement of one of the buildings with about a dozen other college students. It was a fun project. A friend of mine said, “how do you find out about these things?” Maybe it’s a skill of mine? I am constantly looking for and finding fun things “out there” and I try to take part in them as often as I can, because who knows when I won’t be able to anymore.
2. Take Advantage of Your Opportunities
I grew up in a family that says, “Take advantage of your opportunities.” Because of this kind of thinking, I have been able to:
Steer a US Naval boat with a captain of the US Navy 🚢
Fly a 4 seater plane with a flight instructor 🛩️
Go underwater on a submarine 🌊
White water raft in Jasper, Alberta 💦
See the Calgary Stampede 🐮
Visit The Grand Ole’ Opry 🪕
Play fiddle in Branson, Missouri 🎻
See a lu’au in Hawaii, and also whales in Hawaii 🌺
Go down a water slide in the largest mall in America 🛝
Take ferries across Lake Michigan and just outside of Vancouver, Canada to Vancouver Island ⛴️
Tour Hearst Castle 🏰
Visit the Liberty Bell 🔔
Tour so many museums and sites in Washington DC 🏛️
See my great-grandparents’ grave in Arlington Cemetary 🪦
Tour of The White House during President Obama’s Presidency 📘
Visit the spa town in England for about 10 days - it’s where all the local folks in England go on holiday when they don’t want to leave England 🏴
Play violin for “America’s Got Talent” 📺
Be on TV numerous times 📽️
Be interviewed for The Washington Post, USA Today, Disney Kids Magazine and also Oprah’s “O” Magazine! 📖
Visit Disneyland and Walt Disney World many times and up and down the coast of California several times, too. 🐭
My list goes on and on. ✈️
I’ve had so much fun in my life and I want to share these experiences with you, too!
3. Who Will Travel?
I would love to book travel for you, your family, your friends, your youth group, your school or team to do any of these things and so many more fun things! Let me know any ideas you are thinking about and I will find a cost for the whole deal that will be less than what you would pay if you booked it on your own. I would LOVE to do this for you!
Do you want to travel with your dogs? I do this as often as possible! My dogs have been to all of the states below, in green and blue. I would love to help you figure out trips with your best friend(s) and faithful companion(s).
If you don’t have dogs, I can of course plan amazing fun trips for you and your group of folks with no dogs, too. 😆

I just realized that there are only 13 states I have not taken my dog, Jasper, to. 13.
And now, as of July, 2024, he has been to all but 3 of the Canadian Provinces too. And he has been on a Canadian Maritime province ferry and a Vancouver ferry.
He is one well-traveled dog. 🖤
